It’s been eight months since the debut of the 2018 Ford F-150, and in that time, we’ve learned plenty about what it will have to offer. Recently, it faced its most important test: being driven by reviewers. They loved it, of course, and it’s not hard to see why. The updated looks to the front fascia and tailgate, and engine upgrades elevate it on every level.

As of our writing, the spec sheet for every gasoline-powered F-150 has been made public. That just leaves us to wait for the numbers on the turbodiesel V6, which is promised to offer best-in-class towing. In the meantime, the 2018 F-150’s twin-turbo V6 engine holds that title, with its maximum figure rising to 13,200 lbs.—a 1,000 lb. jump over last year. An all-new base V6 engine has also arrived, and manages to be both more efficient and powerful than the mill it replaces. The popular 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and 5.0-liter V8 have been upgraded with a similar mission: both make 400 lb-ft of torque, and see fuel efficiency increases.
